Macaé, known as “the princess of the atlantic”, had its landscape completely reshaped after the arrival of Petrobras installations at the end of the 70’s. The small town changed its palms by 5 star hotels, its farms by warehouses filled with high tech oil & gas equipment, and its fishing boats by the in and out of the OSV fleet of Petrobras, which counts nowadays with more than 300 vessels.
The Imbetiba terminal receives an average of 350 moorings per month and transformed the city in the logistic center of the Campos Basin. In spite of be growing slower than the previous years, it keeps being the lunger of the Campos Basin logistics. We still expect new and exciting projects in the coming years.
The family which controls the S Group is from Macaé and has witnessed this process since the beginning. Wanderlei Moraes, president and founder of the group, works in this sector since 1980, and SAM Offshore was founded in 2003.
